We read every message. We don't always respond quickly, but we do respond.
Before You Write
MORTL is a small, independent operation, so give us a few business days. Corrections to published content jump the queue: if something on the site is wrong, we want to know today.
The error report page, which feeds directly into our review process. Every state guide shows when it was last reviewed, and material corrections get noted on the page itself, not silently patched.
Report an error →No. Everything on MORTL is general information, carefully sourced but never a substitute for a licensed attorney who knows your state and your facts. For anything with real stakes, that's who you need. Our directory doesn't list attorneys, so that's a search you'll run yourself. Start with your state's guide so you know what to ask.
Read your state's guide →Yes, editorial@mortl.com. We publish honest first-person stories and reported pieces about death, grief, and the industry around them. We don't publish vendor content, ghostwritten thought leadership, or anything the subject paid for. If your pitch survives that filter, we want it.
Before a listing appears, MORTL checks the provider's phone and address against the provider's own website. A listing isn't an endorsement, and people should independently verify credentials before hiring. Start from the directory page and submit your practice.
Go to the directory →press@mortl.com reaches a human who can answer questions about the site, the data, and why a death media brand exists on purpose. The media kit covers the basics.
