Matt's Rate

Half off, for life,
for the people who take care of people.

Matt's Rate is 50 percent off MORTL Premium, for as long as you keep it. Named for Matt Horn, an LPN who worked in hospice.

Request your codeWhat Premium includes

$34.50 a year or $4.50 a month, instead of $69 and $9. It renews at the same rate for as long as you keep it.

Who qualifies

  • Anyone who works in a school (teachers, counselors, school nurses, paraprofessionals, bus drivers, cafeteria and custodial staff)
  • Every nurse at every license level (RN, LPN and LVN, CNA, nursing aides)
  • Everyone who works in hospice or palliative care, in any role, including aides, social workers, chaplains and volunteers
  • First responders (EMTs, paramedics, firefighters, police)
  • Veterans and active-duty military

Not eligible: funeral directors and other death-care providers.

How it works

  1. 1

Tell us your role and where you work.

  2. 2

We check your role and employer by hand. A license number and state speed that up for nurses. Nothing gets uploaded.

  3. 3

You get a one-time code for half off Premium, at checkout, and the rate stays for life.

There's nothing to upload. If your role and employer are enough, that's the whole check. If we can't confirm it from what you gave us, we'll email you a question.

Matt's Rate stands on its own, with or without an employer. If your employer later buys MORTL for Employers, your individual subscription ends at the end of its paid period and the employer seat takes over.

Your code works once and expires 7 days after we send it. You enter it in the promotion code box at checkout on the Premium page. The someone-just-died path stays free for everyone, with or without Premium.

Request your code

Four fields, and three more if you want to speed up the check.

The code goes to this address.
Optional. It speeds up the check for nurses. We never send it back to you or anyone else, and it never goes in an email.
Optional. The state that issued the license.
Optional. Anything that helps us check, like your unit, your station or your branch of service.

We read every request ourselves and email your code, usually within a few days.
